IET Establishes Green Hydrogen And Electric Vehicle Centres Of Excellence

(MENAFN- KNN India) New Delhi, Jul 7 (KNN) The Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) has established two specialised centres of excellence dedicated to green hydrogen production and electric vehicle technology.

The institution has integrated onsite green hydrogen generation systems powered by renewable wind and solar energy, alongside battery manufacturing capabilities for all-terrain electric vehicles.

The facility currently produces 4 kilowatts of electricity through renewable wind and solar sources, which directly powers the green hydrogen production process.

This integrated approach demonstrates the practical application of renewable energy in hydrogen fuel production.

According to IET Director Prof Vineet Kansal, the institution has implemented a smart renewable energy-based energy management system in conjunction with the green hydrogen centre.

The system functions as an experimental and research platform designed to examine real-world dynamics of smart grids integrated with multiple renewable energy sources and advanced green hydrogen technologies.

Prof Arun Kumar Tiwari, who supervises both centres of excellence, explained that the system provides a practical training platform for students, researchers, and energy professionals.

The facility enables comprehensive study of renewable energy integration, hydrogen energy cycles, and smart grid operations within a controlled laboratory environment.

The institution's electric vehicle laboratory represents another significant development in its research capabilities. This modern modular platform supports advanced training, research, and experimentation in electric mobility technology.

The facility provides comprehensive access to key components of electric vehicle systems, including battery dynamics, propulsion mechanisms, and charging infrastructure.

The dual centres position IET as a significant contributor to renewable energy research and electric vehicle technology development, offering practical training opportunities for the next generation of energy professionals.
