Türkiye Extends Sympathy to Sudan After Gold Mine Collapse


(MENAFN) Türkiye has conveyed its condolences to Sudan in the wake of a tragic gold mine collapse in the Nile River state, which resulted in a significant loss of life and left several individuals trapped beneath the rubble.

In an official written declaration released on Monday, the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs voiced its sorrow upon hearing about the disaster.

The ministry offered heartfelt condolences to the relatives of the deceased and to the people of Sudan.

Additionally, the statement included a message of hope for the prompt recovery of those who remain buried under the debris.

As per local media, the collapse occurred on Saturday in the secluded desert region of Howeid, located within Nile River state.

The incident led to the deaths of no fewer than 50 individuals.
