One thousand participants complete study program on Sahih al-Bukhari
(MENAFN) Approximately 1,500 individuals have successfully completed an intensive 13-day study program in Istanbul centered on Sahih al-Bukhari, a fundamental collection of the sayings and actions of Prophet Muhammad, and were awarded certificates on Monday.
The event brought together scholars and academics from Türkiye and around the world who contributed insights on safeguarding the Sunnah, the enduring relevance of hadith scholarship, and the duty to pass this knowledge to future generations.
Throughout the program, speakers underlined the significance of Sahih al-Bukhari—widely recognized as the most reliable hadith compilation after the Qur’an—and stressed that implementing the teachings found in hadiths is just as crucial as reading them.
Distinguished guests included figures such as Syrian Grand Mufti Sheikh Osama al-Rifai, Muhammad Tahir Nur Wali from Saudi Arabia, Yahya al-Ghawsani and Ayman Shabani of Syria’s Islamic Institute of Al-Fath, Somali scholar Mahmoud Abdulbari, and Muhammad Emin Kılıç, head of the Haseki Center for Advanced Religious Studies under Türkiye’s Directorate of Religious Affairs.
The program concluded with renowned Syrian scholar Muhammad Mujir al-Khatib reading the final page of Sahih al-Bukhari, after which certificates were distributed to participants.
The certification panel was composed of esteemed hadith experts, including Latifurrahman al-Bahraichi from India, Muhammad Idris al-Sindi from Pakistan, Muhammad Naim Araksusi from Syria, Dursun Ali Yilmaz from Türkiye, Muhammad al-Amin Bouselce from Algeria, and Jasim Muhammad Aziz Kirkuki from Iraq.
During the closing ceremony, the secretary general of the International Union of Muslim Scholars expressed gratitude to the Ismailaga Foundation for organizing the event and offered prayers for the people of Gaza: “O Allah, support them with Your help and grant them triumph.”
Syrian Minister of Religious Endowments Muhammad Abu al-Khayr Shukri closed the event with a call to youth, urging them not only to study hadiths but also to commit them to memory and understand them at a deeper level.
