Cambodia teams up with China to advance digital cultural industry
(MENAFN) Cambodia has launched a new digital platform and unveiled its first AI-generated short drama, marking a significant step toward integrating cutting-edge technology into the country’s cultural sector.
The new 2025 Hi View platform, along with Cambodia’s first artificial intelligence-produced short drama, was officially introduced on Sunday. The initiative seeks to expand the use of AI-Generated Content (AIGC) technology in Cambodia’s digital creative industries.
The launch event was jointly organized by China’s Guangxi Yaoxiang Cultural Communication Co., Ltd. and Cambodia’s BKL Media Production Company.
Pok Borak, head of the Department of Cinema and Cultural Promotion under Cambodia's Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts, said that collaboration between Cambodian and Chinese companies will play a crucial role in growing the nation’s digital cultural economy. He emphasized that the ministry fully supports the Hi View platform and expressed hope that Chinese partners would help establish training centers and develop local talent in AIGC.
Thien Narom, general manager of BKL Media Production, noted that the AIGC technology provided by the Chinese side will enable rapid and efficient creation of new digital content formats.
"Through the AIGC technology, stories will be converted into AI short dramas or short videos efficiently and easily to attract a wider audience," she said. "We must seize this opportunity to promote Cambodia's beautiful culture to China and the world."
Wang Jie, general manager of the Chinese media company, said the Hi View platform offers thousands of short dramas across diverse themes, including romance, comedy, everyday life, science fiction, travel, and cultural topics. The platform supports multiple languages and allows users to view content anytime. He confirmed that Cambodia’s first AI short drama was produced entirely using AIGC technology.
