Jordan Welcomes Peace Agreement Between Rwanda, Congo

Amman, June 28 (Petra) – Jordan welcomed the signing of the peace agreement between the Republic of Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, which took place Friday, in Washington, D.C.
In a statement issued Saturday, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Spokesperson Sufian Qudah said the agreement a "positive" step toward realising the development and prosperity aspirations of both nations.
Qudah said the agreement contributes significantly to strengthening security and stability across East Africa, praising the diplomatic efforts invested in reaching the agreement and commending the efforts of the U.S. and Qatar in facilitating the peace process.
He discussed the role dialogue and mutual understanding in resolving conflicts and stressed called for continued international efforts to promote peace and stability in various regions around the world.
