U.S. Secretary of State Poised to Visit Japan in July
(MENAFN) US Secretary of State Marco Rubio is poised to embark on his inaugural trip to Japan early next month, local media in Japan reported on Friday.
Following his Japan visit, Rubio is set to travel to South Korea, where he will engage with top officials. He will then head to Malaysia to attend the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) foreign ministers’ summit in Kuala Lumpur, as per a report from media, which cited a Japanese government insider.
The ASEAN foreign ministers' gathering is scheduled for July 9 in the Malaysian capital.
These travels will occur after Rubio hosts the Quad Foreign Ministers meeting in Washington, DC, next week. On July 1, Rubio will welcome foreign ministers from Australia, India, and Japan for the 2025 Quad Foreign Ministers Meeting.
