Iran’s Nuclear Chief Vows to Pursue Atomic Program
(MENAFN) According to a local news agency, Iran’s top nuclear official declared on Tuesday that the nation’s nuclear operations will continue uninterrupted.
Mohammad Eslami, head of Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization, made these statements in an interview, addressing recent assaults on Iran’s nuclear facilities attributed to the United States and Israel.
“We have made the necessary arrangements and preparations and are assessing the damages,” Eslami explained, highlighting that steps to restore the nuclear sites had already been planned well in advance.
He underscored Tehran’s commitment to ensuring there is no interruption in its nuclear production or related services.
Tensions escalated dramatically on June 13 when Israel carried out extensive airstrikes targeting multiple locations within Iran, including both nuclear and military infrastructures. These attacks resulted in the deaths of high-ranking commanders, nuclear experts, and civilians alike. In retaliation, Iran launched successive missile and drone strikes on Israeli territory, causing casualties and significant destruction.
Then, on Saturday, the U.S. struck three Iranian nuclear facilities at Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan. Iran responded two days later with missile attacks on the U.S. Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar.
Following Iran’s counterattack, U.S. President Donald Trump announced late Monday that Israel and Iran had reached a formal agreement to enforce a full ceasefire, signaling what he described as the conclusion of the “12-Day War.”
However, Israel reported on Tuesday morning that it had detected fresh missile launches from Iran — an allegation firmly rejected by the Iranian military.
