(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) TEHRAN, June 23 (KUNA) -- Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei announced on Monday that Iran was studying the possibility of closing the Strait of Hormuz.
In a statement, cited by Mehr News Agency, designated authorities were reviewing plans to defend the country against its enemies, saying that the closure of the Strait of Hormuz would be put into consideration by the Iranian armed forces.
Since June 13, Tehran and other Iranian cities were attacked by the Israeli occupation, pushing Iran to retaliate via a wave of missile assaults.
Sunday, the US decided to airstrike three nuclear facilities, an operation deemed as a success by the US President Donald Trump who called on Tehran to seek peace or else face more attacks. (end)
