(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA))
DOHA, June 22 (KUNA) -- Qatar expressed its deep concern on Sunday over the latest developments in Iran, namely the targeting of Iranian nuclear facilities by the US.
In a statement, the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized the need to halt all military operations and immediately return to dialogue to resolve outstanding issues.
The ministry warned that the serious tension currently witnessed in the region will lead to catastrophic consequences at both regional and international levels, reaffirming Qatar's full support at settling disputes to maintain peace and stability in the region.
Earlier today, US President Donald Trump announced successful airstrikes on Iran's nuclear sites, aiming to destroy what the US alleges the country's nuclear "weapons" program. (end)
