'Kuberaa': All You Need To Know About The Dhanush, Nagarjuna And Rashmika Mandanna Film

The upcoming crime drama, Kuberaa, which has made heads turn with its ensemble cast and a slickly cut trailer, is releasing in UAE theatres on June 20. Here's what we know about the film and why we believe you must watch it.

Kuberaa is directed by the Telugu filmmaker Sekhar Kammula, who made the critically acclaimed Dollar Dreams, Happy Days and Fidaa. Known for casting newer faces with impactful storylines, Kammula this time changes tack with some of Indian cinema's biggest faces. And that's a primary reason why you must take note.

Rashmika Mandanna, who's headlined recent blockbusters such as Pushpa and its sequel Pushpa 2, Vaarisu, Animal and Sikandar, is its heroine. Actor-filmmaker Dhanush, who last produced and directed the rom-com Nilavukku Enmel Ennadi Kobam, and Telugu superstar Nagarjuna are the lead actors. Jim Sarbh, Sayaji Shinde, Sunaina and Dalip Tahil round off its cast.

Mandanna's box office successes didn't go unnoticed. During the audio launch of the movie, Nagarjuna called her a“powerhouse of talent”, ANI reported, underlining that her starring in blockbusters in recent years was owing to her hard work.

Dhanush, during a pre-release event, expressed his desire to direct the Telugu superstar-politician Pawan Kalyan, according to The Times of India.

The movie's trailer, which released to much fanfare recently, sees Dhanush and Nagarjuna, among India's versatile actors, facing off against each other. Dhanush plays a beggar out on the streets, while Nagarjuna's role is that of a executive at a big conglomerate, who gets to mentor Dhanush. Nagarjuna's character believes money and influence are crucial to life, eventually pitting him against his mentee. Mandanna plays Dhanush's love interest in the movie.

The film's makers revealed that Dhanush filmed for nearly 12 hours near a dumpyard, in line with his character.

Devi Sri Prasad, who composed the tunes for Pushpa and Pushpa 2, returns to compose the music for Kuberaa, produced by Suniel Narang and Puskur Rammohan Rao of Amigos Creations.

Nagarjuna last starred in 2024's period action-drama Naa Saami Ranga and plays a key role in Rajnikanth's Coolie, set to release in August 2025.

Dhanush, who was last seen in the critically acclaimed action-drama Raayan, which he wrote and starred in, will next act in Aanand L. Rai's Tere Ishk Mein, opposite Kriti Sanon.

Kuberaa will release in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada and Malayalam.
