Türkiye’s Stock Index Shows Slight Rise
(MENAFN) Türkiye’s main stock index, the BIST 100, began Tuesday’s session at 9,355.81 points, marking a minor rise of 0.06 percent, or 5.8 points, in comparison to the previous day’s closing level.
On Monday, the index had already recorded an uptick of 0.41 percent, ending the day at 9,350.01 points. The total trading turnover reached 89.9 billion Turkish liras, which equals approximately USD2.28 billion.
By 10:30 a.m. local time (0730GMT), the foreign exchange rates were as follows: 39.3730 liras against the US dollar, 45.5920 versus the euro, and 53.5010 compared to the British pound.
In the commodities market, the value of one ounce of gold was USD3,388.40, while Brent crude oil was being sold at USD72.80 per barrel.
