Ireland Accuses Israeli Occupation Of Genocide In Gaza
Dublin: Irish Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Simon Harris accused on Thursday the Israeli occupation of committing genocide in the Gaza Strip.
In his remarks, Harris said that it was clear that Israel aims to remove Palestinians from Gaza as part of an ongoing pattern of war crimes, emphasizing that the world has not done enough to pressure Israel to change course.
He added that the Irish government will consider a bill to ban trade with illegal Israeli settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories, describing the Israeli government's performative program of providing minimal aid to thousands of starving Palestinians as contemptible.
Harris also accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of pursuing clear political goals at the expense of Palestinian civilian lives in Gaza, asserting that the occupation was working to cleanse Gaza of the Palestinian people, in a war crime and a case of forced displacement.
