Amman, May 13 (Petra) – The Ministry of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs on Tuesday welcomed the announcement by U.S. President Donald Trump, during his visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to lift sanctions on Syria.
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Sufian Qudah expressed Jordan's support for the decision, describing it as an important step toward Syria's reconstruction and a gateway to renewed economic cooperation between Syria and the international community ultimately contributing to prosperity and development for the Syrian people.
Qudah reiterated Jordan's unwavering support for Syria and its people, emphasizing the Kingdom's commitment to the country's reconstruction based on principles that ensure its unity, security, stability, and the safety of its citizens and territory.
