Pakistan Announces Shooting Down 29 Indian Drones

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) ISLAMABAD, May 8 (KUNA) - Pakistan military on Thursday confirmed to shoot down 29 Indian drones that killed three people and wounded eight others.
The spokesperson for Pakistan military's media wing Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry in a statement to media confirmed that at least 29 drones sent over by India have been neutralized by Pakistan so far.
"Only one managed to partially engage its target, some equipment was damaged, and four soldiers were injured," he said.
"However, since the enemy doesn't distinguish between military or civilians, three people were martyred while four were injured," the spokesperson confirmed.
He said that the locations where the Indian drones were neutralized include Lahore, Attock, Gujranwala, Chakwal, Rawalpindi, Bahawalpur, Miano, Chor and Near Karachi.
Debris of the downed Israeli drones is being recovered from various locations across Pakistan. Meanwhile, all educational institutions, including universities, colleges, and schools, have been closed till next week across Pakistan administered Kashmir, federal capital Islamabad and eastern Punjab province.
Moreover, the Pakistan Foreign Office categorically rejected the baseless and irresponsible allegations propagated by the Indian media, accusing Pakistan of launching attacks on Pathankot, Jaisalmer, and Srinagar.
"These claims are entirely unfounded, politically motivated, and part of a reckless propaganda campaign aimed at maligning Pakistan," said a press release by the Foreign Office.
"The repeated pattern of leveling accusations against Pakistan without any credible investigation reflects a deliberate strategy to manufacture a pretext for aggression and to further destabilize the region. Such actions not only further endanger regional peace but also reveal a disturbing willingness to exploit misinformation for political and military ends," it added. (end)
