These awards highlight successes in disability employment at a crucial time when more than 70 million U.S. adults report having a disability , yet the unemployment rate of working-age individuals (as defined by those between the ages of 16 - 64 years old) with disabilities is 8.1% , which is more than double the national unemployment rate of 3.9% for those without disabilities.
