Iran Maintains Close Ties With Russia And China On Its Nuclear Program

(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 17. Iran has strategic relations with Russia and China regarding its nuclear program and maintains close interactions with both countries on this matter, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Garibabadi told local media, Trend reports.

Garibabadi highlighted that Iran has kept its Russian and Chinese allies informed during each round of negotiations with European parties (the UK, France, and Germany). Additionally, discussions regarding the Muscat talks process have been shared with Russia and China.

"China and Russia's stance on Iran's nuclear program is rooted in principle. They both stress the critical need to halt threats against Iran's program, advocate for negotiations and dialogue as the sole solution, and highlight the necessity of lifting unjust sanctions on Iran," he said.

Garibabadi also noted that Iran continues to prioritize this issue and strives to maintain and strengthen its relations with both Russia and China.

On April 12, indirect talks between Iran and the US on Iran's nuclear program were held in Muscat, Oman. The discussions, led by Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi and the US Special Representative for Middle East Affairs, Steve Winkoff, were described as constructive and based on mutual respect. The next round of talks is scheduled for April 19.
