Russia Emerges as South Africa's Top Partner in Space Exploration
(MENAFN) Russia has become South Africa’s foremost collaborator in progressing its national space ambitions, according to Patrick Ndlovu, chairman of the board at the South African National Space Agency (SANSA).
Speaking to Sputnik Africa, Ndlovu emphasized the strong cooperative ties between the two nations.
During the Cosmonautics Day festivities on Saturday, Ndlovu, who also holds the position of CEO at Infinity Integrated Solutions, noted that South Africa “has received most of its support from the Russian Federation.”
He voiced optimism that the country's space endeavors would keep “naturally growing” as a result of this alliance.
“I must say that Russia has been the most willing to partner with South Africa on various mutually beneficial grounds to actually advance our space and mission as a nation,” remarked the SANSA chairman, underlining the value of the bilateral cooperation.
Beyond the collaboration with Russia, Ndlovu highlighted that South Africa is also playing a crucial role in international space research.
He pointed out that the country is leveraging its advantageous geographical position to accommodate sophisticated instruments used by global space organizations and private satellite providers.
