Kuwait Moon Sighting Cmte: Sunday Marks First Day Of Eid Al-Fitr

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, March 29 (KUNA) -- The crescent of the Islamic Hijri month of Shawwal was sighted on Saturday, marking the advent of the Eid Al-Fitr festival and the end of the holy month of Ramadan, Kuwait's moon sighting committee said.
The committee met on the evening of 29 Ramadan for the Hijri year 1446, and "the crescent was proven to be sighted on this night," chief of the Supreme Judicial Council and the Moon-Sighting Committee Adel Bouresli said.
He congratulated His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Kuwaiti nationals and residents alongside Arab and Islamic nations on the occasion.
Minister of Justice Naser Al-Sumait also His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Kuwaiti nationals and residents alongside Arab and Islamic nations on the occasion. (end)
