Arab League, Ahl Masr Foundation Partner To Support Region's First Specialized Burns Hospital
The signing ceremony took place in the presence of Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Ahl Masr Hospital Founder and Chairwoman Heba El Sewedy, and senior officials from the Arab League.
Aboul Gheit praised the hospital as a“humanitarian landmark in healthcare,” highlighting its construction through donations and execution by Egyptian hands as a testament to the region's capacity for meaningful change.
Former Egyptian Prime Minister and Honorary President of Ahl Masr Foundation, Ibrahim Mahlab, described the hospital as a“true embodiment of humanity,” applauding its mission to provide critical care for burn victims.
El Sewedy emphasized that the agreement strengthens regional healthcare cooperation. She noted that since its launch in March 2024, the hospital has treated over 8,000 patients, including 6,500 children, and has performed more than 4,000 surgeries.
Looking ahead, the hospital plans to expand its facilities by adding a 50-bed intensive care unit, a neonatal care department, and a specialized research center dedicated to burn treatment and studies.
