GCC Decries Ongoing Aggression On Gaza


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) GENEVA, March 26 (KUNA) -- The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) on Wednesday condemned the continuous aggression by the Israeli occupation on Gaza Strip, expelling, starving, wounding and causing martyrdom to thousands of Palestinians.
The GCC stand was expressed by the State of Kuwait Permanent Representative to the United Nations and International Organizations in Geneva, Ambassador Nasser Al-Hayen, in his capacity as the head of the GCC ambassadors' board, during a debate on a report by the UN Secretary General and the High Commissioner for Human Rights regarding human rights in Palestine and other occupied Arab territories.
Ambassador Al-Hayen denounced the continuing attacks on the West Bank inflicting systematic destruction in the infrastructure, urged the international community to intensify efforts to spare human lives and avert further escalation in the occupied territories.
He stressed on the necessity to cease firing permanently and called for adopting the Egyptian plan declared during the extraordinary Arab summit, held on March 4, 2025.
Moreover, the ambassador who was speaking on behalf of the GCC states affirmed the unwavering stand of the GCC countries that future of Gaza Strip should be set within framework of a unified and independent Palestinian state with the 1967 borders and East Jerusalem as its capital.
He also condemned the recurring attacks by the occupation entity on Syria, occupying the no-man zone on the Syrian borders and expanding settlements in the occupied Golan Heights, as blatant breaches of the UN charter, principles of the international law and relevant Security Council resolutions.
Ambassador Al-Hayen affirmed the GCC states' commitment to supporting the just Arab causes, defending the legitimate rights of peoples, emphasizing the necessity that the international community act to ensure respect for the international humanitarian laws and halt all breaches against the innocent civilians.
