Norway's Foreign Minister, Minister Of Employment And Inclusion Arrive In Kyiv

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Norway's Minister of Foreign Affairs Espen Barth Eide and Minister of Employment and Inclusion Tonje Brenna have arrived in Kyiv for an official visit.

As reported by Ukrinform, this was announced by the government of Norw y.

The officials are scheduled to meet with their Ukrainian counterparts and assess the results of Norway's support. It is noted that on March 6, the parties in the Storting agreed to increase the support by 50 billion kroner, bringing the total to 217 billion kroner until 2030 (approximately $4.8 billion and over $20 billion, respectively).

“In meetings with Ukrainian authorities, we can promise long-term commitment to Norwegian efforts. The Ukrainians are noticing this. Right now, much is about the battles on the battlefield, but we must also ensure that society is kept going. That people have electricity, a job to go to, a functioning state apparatus and a vibrant civil society are also part of the resistance struggle,” says Minister of Labor and Inclusion Tonje Brenna.

Earlier, on March 20, President Volodymyr Zelensky visited Norway, where he thanked the country for its significant financial support during Russia's full-scale invasion and for its assistance in strengthening Ukraine's energy sector.

Norway's Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre assured Zelensky that Norway fully supports Ukraine's efforts to achieve a ceasefire with Russia and negotiations for a just, lasting, and fair peace.
