UAE Dismisses Paulo Bento As Head Coach Of Football Team Hours After Win Against North Korea

The UAE Football Association has dismissed its head coach of the national team, Paulo Bento, along with his coaching staff, it announced on Wednesday.

The dismissal comes after UAE secured a 2-1 win against North Korea in their AFC World Cup qualifying Group A match on Tuesday.

The result moved the UAE to 13 points, four behind second-placed Uzbekistan with just two matches remaining.

Paulo Bento, a former player who hails from Portugal, was announced as the manager of UAE's national football team in 2023. Prior to heading the national team, Paulo served as the head coach of the Korean national team , being the longest-serving manager of the team, from 2018 to 2022.

He also served as the Portugal national team's manager between 2010 and 2014.
