Turkey's Bayraktar KIZILELMA successfully completes key test flight
(MENAFN) Bayraktar KIZILELMA, Turkey's first unmanned fighter jet designed by Baykar, successfully completed a key AB-Launched Maneuver System Identification Test, marking an important milestone in its testing phase. Baykar confirmed that the testing program for the aircraft is progressing as scheduled.
The test flight, held at the AKINCI Flight Training and Test Center in Tekirdag, western Turkey. During the flight, the production prototype of the aircraft, designated PT3 with tail number TC-OZB3, carried out intricate maneuver detection activities with exceptional precision.
Baykar noted that valuable lessons from previous prototypes have contributed to notable improvements in the production model, including structural upgrades and enhanced avionics.
Additionally, the test flight showcased the successful integration of an afterburning engine alternative, further boosting the aircraft’s capabilities.
The Bayraktar KIZILELMA, powered by its new engine, is designed for near-supersonic flight and superior high-speed maneuverability. Enhanced situational awareness, provided by its AESA radar, will enable the aircraft to perform demanding and multifaceted missions.
