Kuwait Marking Arab League's Anni. Lauds Its Crucial Role For Joint Action

CAIRO, March 22 (KUNA) -- The State of Kuwait's Permanent Delegate at the Arab League Ambassador Talal Al-Mutairi has affirmed that the organization throughout eight decades has proven capable of leading the joint Arab action and mirroring the real status of Arab causes.
Ambassador Al-Mutairi, in a statement to KUNA marking the league's 80s anniversary, said the organization is a basis for the multi-party joint Arab action, noting its noticeable presence on the international arenas through cooperation with regional and international organizations.
Joining the Arab League was one of the first steps that had been taken by the State of Kuwait after independence out of its advocacy of the necessity to join such a coalition that expresses the Arab identity and brings peoples of the region together, he said.
Kuwait's joining the league has paved the way for it to join the international community, obtain membership of regional and international organization, thus directly contributing to the manifestation of its real status, namely the great potentials for supporting the joint Arab action, Al-Mutairi added.
Kuwait hinges on the Arab League as the main umbrella for the peoples of the Arab region, he said, affirming that it has succeeded in defending the Arab causes.
The Arab League was established on March 22, 1945. Its charter was signed at the time by Egypt, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Iraq and Yemen. (end)
