Doha: Qatar Foundation's (QF) Ability Friendly Program (AFP), part of Pre-University Education (PUE), celebrated World Down Syndrome Day, observed annually on March 21. The event aimed to raise awareness about Down syndrome while promoting inclusivity and embracing diversity.
The celebration emphasized the importance of recognizing the potential of individuals with Down syndrome and supporting their integration into society. It also highlighted Qatar Foundation's (QF) commitment to fostering an inclusive community, where individuals of all abilities can reach their full potential and actively contribute to various aspects of life.
The programme provides opportunities for individuals with disabilities to participate in a range of sports and developmental activities.
Through tailored sessions, including football and swimming, it helps children and adults enhance their physical and social skills, boost their self-confidence, and benefit from physical activities in a supportive and inclusive environment.
