KFAED, UNICEF Sign Funding Agreements To Support Gaza, Lebanon


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, March 20 (KUNA) -- Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) signed two agreements to fund UNICEF with USD 1.5 million to execute a project on supporting water sources in Gaza Strip and USD two million to improve education in Lebanon.
In a statement on Thursday, KFAED said that the Gaza project aims to enhance water supplies and provide safe drinking water, while the Lebonon one will develop education in three schools.
It noted that this is the tenth grant of its kind to the UNICEF, adding that the total of the fund's contribution to UNICEF reached about USD 24 million since 2017.
The agreements were signed by KFAED Acting Director General Walid Al-Bahar and UNICEF Area Representative for the Gulf Al-Tayeb Adam. (end)
