J & K Govt To Take Up Establishment Of FMGE Exam Centres In Kashmir With Goi
Minister I/C Health & Medical Education Department confirmed that the matter would be taken up with the relevant central ministry, reported news agency KNO.
The minister responsed to query raised by MLA Dr. Sajad Shafi, who sought clarification on whether the government would push for the establishment of FMGE examination centers in these locations to facilitate aspiring foreign medical graduates from the region.
Notably, the demand for local examination centers has been a long-standing request from Kashmiri medical graduates who complete their studies abroad.
Currently, the students from Kashmir are required to travel to centres in Samba, Noida, or Amritsar to appear for the FMGE, causing logistical and financial difficulties.
