Suicide Bombing Strikes Paramilitary Convoy in Pakistan


(MENAFN) A suspected suicide attack targeted a paramilitary convoy in southwestern Pakistan on Sunday, resulting in at least five fatalities, including three Frontier Corps soldiers, and leaving over 43 people injured, according to military and Police officials.

The Pakistan Army’s media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), stated that a suicide bomber in a vehicle packed with explosives crashed into the Frontier Corps convoy.

The incident took place in Noshki, a remote district in Balochistan province, which borders Afghanistan and Iran.

Earlier reports from local media suggested the death rate was as high as seven.

Noshki police chief Hashim Momand confirmed that over 30 paramilitary officers were among the wounded.
