Twelve Illegal Hunting Devices Confiscated At Al Reem Reserve

Doha, Qatar: Twelve electronic bird-calling devices, also known as "Sawayat" were confiscated by the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MoECC) during its inspection campaign at Al Reem Reserve.

In an announcement, the Ministry stated that the campaign forms part of its efforts to protect wildlife and enhance compliance with environmental laws. The inspection campaign at Al Reem

Reserve resulted in the confiscation of 12 illegal bird-calling devices while the violators were referred to the relevant authorities.

On social media, the Ministry added: "This campaign came within the vision and efforts of the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change to preserve biodiversity and combat poaching, which threatens the sustainability and biodiversity of wild species in natural reserves."
