DÜSSELDORF – FTI consulting has appointed Romina Gerhards to lead the firm's expansion in Europe, as a managing director within the strategic communications segment. Gerhards has more than 25 years' experience in digital strategy and technology and has worked internationally, spanning multiple industries, notably with Burson, Hill & Knowlton and Bauer media Group.
RIYADH – Also at FTI, Usman Javed has been appointed as a senior director in the firm's strategic communications segment. He will support the firm's growth in capabilities within the Middle East, providing strategic and policy advisory services, with emphasis on the financial services and energy sectors. Javed previously served as first secretary and head of economic diplomacy at the British Embassy in Riyadh.
LONDON – SourceCode Communications has hired Ruvina Uppal as a director in the UK. Having held roles at Archetype and Team Lewis, Uppal has a track-record of working with innovators on strategic campaigns. Prior to joining Sourcecode, Uppal was a UK board director at Team Lewis.
LONDON – Advita Patel (pictured) has been named up as 2025 president of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR), the first person of colour to lead the organisation. Patel is a respected leader in the comms world and has spent her career championing inclusivity, internal communications and employee engagement. As the founder of CommsRebel, she has 20 years' experience working with organisations to build thriving cultures through effective communication.
LONDON – Clarion Communications has made a series of senior promotions and hires, after recent wins including Cathaway Pacific, Hovis, The Shard, Bridor and Bread & Butter Wines. In the last year, Clarion has promoted 30% of its team. Among the recent promotions, Glasgow-based Lynne Hughes is appointed as deputy managing partner, bringing more than seven years' experience at Clarion to her new role working across corporate and consumer accounts.
MANCHESTER – Aduro Communications has hired Hayley Ainscow as a senior associate director. It's her second stint at the company, after a near decade leading numerous integrated campaigns for large consumer brands. She rejoins after working as an associate director at Weber Shandwick for the past 18 months.
LONDON - Golin has expanded its corporate affairs team with two new hires. Simon Tiernan joins as director and VP of corporate affairs, bringing a decade of in-house experience at McDonald's, where he was head of UK & Ireland communications. He has also worked at Zeno London, for brands such as Coca Cola, Amazon and Budweiser. Stephanie Mazinyi has also joined the agency as director or corporate affairs; she was previously at Golin Hong Kong and Porter Novelli and bring expertise in geopolitics, the global media landscape and crisis communications.
LONDON – James Clark, head of content at Bet365, has joined digital agency Rise at Seven to lead its growing sports and educational arm. Clark spent a decade at ITV Sports as news and sports editor, and at Bet365 he spent three years in Gibraltar managing a team of 20 content producers across four countries. At Rise at Seven, he will be head of organic growth and content managing within the agency, while growing the sports arm across the UK, US and Europe.
LONDON – Brunswick Group has appointed Bridie Barrett to support the development of the firm's investor engagement offer in the UK and Europe, working closely with global investor engagement experts. Barrett has over two decades of experience in equity capital markets as an analyst and an advisor, and was a managing director at Stifel UK between 2018-2024, and has also held equity analyst roles at both RBS and HSBC, where she was ranked in the top three European media analysts.
BIRMINGHAM – WPR has appointed two associate directors to its leadership team. Natalie Hunt and Andy Williams are both promoted, joining Dan Gabriel and Rob Jones on the Birmingham-based agency's team. The associate directors now join the existing senior team in delivering the agency's growth plans for the next five years.
MANCHESTER – Brazen has recruited Mark Dandy, former Ear to the Ground head of influencer marketing, as head of influence. Dandy has worked on campaigns for brands including PlayStation, Coca-Cola and New Balance. As head of influence, he will lead a seven-strong division and take the reins of Brazen Buddies, the company's influencer network.
BRUSSELS – Dita Charanzová has joined DGA group as a senior advisor. Charanzová was previously in Czechia's diplomatic service, focusing on trade relations, and will advise DGA clients on regulatory and public affairs strategies across Europe and beyond. Charanzová brings more than two decades of experience in European Union institutions, diplomacy and international relations, and will strengthens DGA group's presence in Brussels.
