Qatar Premier emphasizes on urgency for reaching agreement between Iran, U.S.
(MENAFN) Qatar's Premier Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani emphasized the urgency for a deal involving the United States and Iran.
“There is no way that Qatar would support any kind of military step in that region. We will not give up until we see a diplomatic solution between the US and Iran. This needs to reach an agreement,” a news agency cited Al-Thani as stating.
His claims happened briefly following United States Leader Donald Trump’s indirect suggestion on Friday that he wished for a "peace agreement" with Iran.
In a television meeting with an American reporter, Al-Thani stated that all nations in the Middle East are worried about possible attacks on Iranian nuclear areas.
He underlined that Iran is "our next-door neighbor, and we have to maintain a good relation with all our neighbors…it is in the interest of the region to have a better relation with Iran.”
