The entire battery swapping process is fully automated – from placing the swap order via the NIO app or car infotainment, to the vehicle autonomously steering and parking in the swap station.

NIO Power Swap Stations allow NIO users to fully recharge their vehicles faster than traditional refuelling – all without leaving their car. Offering a fully automatic battery swap process for NIO vehicles in as little as three minutes*. Occupying the same footprint as four parking spaces, NIO Power Swap Station 3.0, capable of holding up to 21 batteries, is a groundbreaking charging solution designed to eliminate range concerns and deliver unparalleled convenience. PSS 3.0 is capable of performing up to 408 battery swaps in a single day.
With every swap, an extensive and advanced system health check is performed, taking vehicle safety and drivetrain performance to the next level. This comprehensive check-up ensures the battery, motor and electric control systems are in peak condition, guaranteeing optimal performance, vehicle safety, as well as driver peace of mind.

Pricing for battery swaps is straightforward and inclusive, covering both the swap and a full charge: AED 119 for 100kWh batteries and AED 99 for 75kWh batteries.
