Trump announces he will ‘probably’ get together with Putin in KSA

(MENAFN) US President Donald Trump has suggested that his first meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin during his second term could take place in Saudi Arabia. This announcement followed a phone conversation between the two leaders, during which they discussed the ongoing Ukraine conflict and other issues. Trump shared with the press that the meeting could happen in the near future, though no specific date was mentioned. He highlighted the potential of Saudi Arabia as a meeting venue, citing his and Putin's familiarity with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

Trump also indicated that multiple meetings between the two leaders could occur in the coming months, with both visits likely to be exchanged between the US and Russia. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov confirmed that Putin had invited Trump to Moscow during their phone call but did not provide a timeline. Earlier reports suggested that Saudi Arabia and the UAE were being considered by Moscow as potential locations for a summit. Additionally, Saudi and Russian officials have recently been involved in diplomatic efforts, including the release of American Marc Fogel from Russian prison, in exchange for Russian businessman Aleksandr Vinnik.
