Turkish Transport Min. Underlines OIC Logistics Coop.

ISTANBUL, Feb 12 (KUNA) -- Turkish Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloglu said Thursday transport is one of the key pillars of economic development, human solidarity and crisis management, urging cooperation between Muslim states in this field.
The minister made the statement while addressing the 2nd Session of the Islamic Conference of Transport Ministers (CTM), which kicked off in Istanbul earlier in the day under the theme "Strengthening Transport Connectivity to Deepen Fraternity among OIC Member States".
He said that the global economy, trade routes, production centers and transport technologies have seen a drastic transformation, which has made cooperation in the transport area more strategic than ever.
He added that this cooperation, which comes under the umbrella of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), marks a significant platform for promoting mutual solidarity and trust among OIC member states.
The Turkish minister underlined that the transport sector is not only an element of trade and economic development but also has become one of the basic infrastructures for human solidarity, crisis management and regional stability." (end)
