Emirates Poised for Ambitious Growth in 2025 with Expansion Plans and Sustainability Focus

(MENAFN) Long-haul airline Emirates is preparing for an exciting year ahead in 2025, with plans to expand its international network, introduce cutting-edge aircraft, and lead the charge in sustainability, following an impressive performance in 2024.

Building on strong demand for both passengers and cargo, along with innovative strategies, the Dubai-based airline is leveraging its record-breaking momentum to shape the future of aviation, according to the airline’s country manager for Turkey, Bulgaria, and Romania, in an interview with Anadolu.

Emirates achieved a record revenue of 62.2 billion Emirati dirhams (USD 16.9 billion) during the first half of the 2024-25 fiscal year, marking a 5 percent increase compared to the previous year. This growth was driven by high travel demand, the introduction of retrofitted aircraft, and the reopening of key routes.

"While we faced challenges such as volatile fuel prices and geopolitical tensions, our adaptability ensured we not only met but exceeded our targets," said Mehmet Gurkaynak.

He emphasized that the airline's dedication to customer service was crucial in maintaining its leadership position in the global aviation market.
