Kuwait Min. Commends State Care For Jaafari Endowments

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, Feb 10 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr. Mohammad Al-Wasmi said on Monday that Kuwaiti government care for Jaafari endowments is a "source of pride".
The minister made the statement while delivering a keynote speech at the one-day 10th Jaafari Endowments Forum, held under the patronage of His Highness the Amir sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and organized by the General Secretariat of Endowments.
Al-Wasmi said Kuwait has now become a role model for humanitarianism and good citizenship principles, citing examples of giving and disapproval of intolerance and sectarianism.
He added that Kuwait has secured the elements of success and imposed tools of control and care for endowments, marking 20 years since the inception of the Jaafari Endowments Administration under the umbrella of the General Secretariat of Endowments.
The minister noted that the secretariat has made huge internal and external accomplishments, marking a quantum leap in the endowment field in Kuwait, and a pioneering government step to revamp endowments in all domains.
He boasted that the secretariat has also done its utmost to promote the status of Kuwait as a world humanitarian hub through its diverse administrations, funds, projects and banks that care about contribution to societal development and relief efforts around the globe.
For his part, Director of Jaafari Endowments Administration Tareq Al-Habeeb addressed the forum by saying that his agency is mainly based on developing endowment revenues and broadening the scope of endowments, thus cementing and beefing up the role of Jaafari endowments as a sustainable institution that acts in the context of laws and regulations.
He added that it also seeks to apply the goals of endowments and serve the society with all segments with a view to ensuring sustainable endowment earnings and setting up social, humanitarian, cultural and developmental projects. (end)
