Its location in Krasnodar territory makes it a key logistical hub for supplying diesel fuel and aviation kerosene, both of which are used by the Russian military. That is why the Afipsky oil refinery is not just an industrial site but an essential part of Russia's military infrastructure.

As previously reported by Ukrinform, on the night of February 8, Rostov-on-Don was attacked, with explosions heard in the Selmash area, where key Russian military facilities are located.
