Ukraine Exports 5 Million Tons Of Agricultural Products In January UAC


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) In January 2025, Ukraine exported 5 million tons of agricultural products, which is 9.7% less than in December last year.

According to Ukrinform, this is reported by the press service of the Ukrainian Agribusiness Club (UAC).

It is noted that in January 2025, Ukraine exported 3.5 million tons of grain (the share of corn in the total structure is 72%, wheat - 26% and barley - 2%), which is 3% less than in December last year.

Exports of oilseeds also declined, with 352 thousand tons exported (soybeans accounted for 63%, rapeseed for 29%, and sunflower for 39%), down 39% from the previous month.

At the same time, in January of this year, Ukraine managed to slightly increase the supply of vegetable oils. In particular, 424.4 thsd tonnes were exported (the share of sunflower oil - 89% and soybean oil - 10%), which is 1% more than in December last year.

Oil cake was exported in the amount of 406.3 thsd tonnes (67% of sunflower cake and 33% of soybean cake), down 22% month-on-month.

As for the exports of other types of agricultural products, the indicator also showed a drop of 24% - to 329.5 thsd tonnes.

Experts have noted that the downward trend in agricultural exports has been observed for three months. They believe that this is absolutely typical for the winter period in the absence of unforeseen circumstances.

In the current marketing year, the vast majority of agricultural products intended for export have already been exported, including 64% of wheat and 55% of corn. It is predicted that in the coming months there may be a further slight reduction in export shipments.

As reported, the volume of grain export transportatio by rail in 2024 was a record for the last four years.
