GCC, Argentina Discuss Strengthening Coop.

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) RIYADH, Feb 9 (KUNA) -- Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary General Jassem Al-Budaiwi discussed bilateral relations on Sunday with Argentina's Foreign Minister Gerardo Werthein.
A GCC Secretariat statement said that during the meeting, the two sides explored strengthening ties, including signing a consultation mechanism MoU, and establish a joint-action plan across various fields.
The discussion also covered relation between GCC states and the Mercosur group, currently chaired by Argentina, including the possibility of resuming negotiations on a free trade agreement.
Both sides exchanged views on latest regional and international arenas, especially the situations both in Gaza and Syria, emphasizing the need to support efforts aimed at regional stability and security. (end)
