Soldier With Severe Head Injuries Found Near Zhytomyr

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) A 27-year-old soldier of one of the military units was found near Zhytomyr and diagnosed with severe head injuries.

According to Ukrinform, this was reported by the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Zhytomyr region.

“The 27-year-old man was found by drivers on the roadway on the outskirts of Zhytomyr on February 7 at about 18:00 and reported it to the police. The investigative team of the Zhytomyr District Police Department and paramedics worked at the scene. The doctors took the injured man to the intensive care unit of the hospital, where he was diagnosed with severe head injuries,” the statement said.

It is noted that the man did not explain the circumstances of the injury to the doctors, but during the initial communication with the police, he denied the involvement of unauthorized persons, which was recorded on the body cameras of the patrol police. The victim is in a stable condition in the hospital.

According to law enforcement officers, the victim is a resident of Lviv region, a soldier in one of the military units. According to his colleagues, the man disappeared while moving the personnel from the unit where he received his uniform that day to a training center. The man was in the back of a car and jumped out of it while the vehicle was moving. During the escape, he probably received the injuries.

The day before, social media reported that Stepan Bilchenko, a senior laboratory assistant at the Nuclear Physics Training Laboratory of the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, was found with head injuries.

According to his friend Vladyslav Kononov, Stepan met the territorial recruitment center (TRC) workers on his way to work.

According to the Lviv regional TRC, Stepan Bilchenko was not registered with any of the TRC and did not update his military registration data.

“Citizen Bilchenko Stepan Borysovych was taken to the Lychakiv-Zaliznychnyi TRC. He underwent a military medical commission, according to which he was found fit for military service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He did not submit any medical or any other documents that would give him the right to deferment,” the communications group of the regional military and civilian personnel committee added.

It is noted that on February 5, Bilchenko was called up for military service by the Lychakiv-Zaliznychnyi TRC of Lviv. On February 6, he was taken to the military unit A2900 to undergo basic general military training.

The territorial recruitment center urged not to manipulate this topic and added that the military personnel of the Lychakiv-Zaliznychnyi TRC did not commit any illegal actions against Bilchenko.
