Pentagon Expands Media Rotation, Orders Eight Outlets to Vacate by February 21

(MENAFN) The Pentagon has expanded its "annual media rotation program," requiring a total of eight media outlets to vacate their workspaces by February 21, following an announcement this evening. This move builds on a memo released last Friday by Department of Defense (DOD) spokesman John Ullyot, which initially specified that The New York Times, NBC News, National Public Radio, and Politico would be swapped out with The New York Post, One America News Network, Breitbart News Network, and HuffPost.

In response to the initial announcement, representatives from several outlets with reporters working at the Pentagon visited the building on Wednesday to voice concerns and ask questions directly to Ullyot.

Ullyot maintained the policy, issuing a new memo on Wednesday evening that added four additional outlets to the rotation. These include The Washington Post, CNN, The Hill, and The War Zone, all of which are now required to vacate their Pentagon offices by February 21. The newly designated outlets that will replace them are The Washington Examiner, Newsmax, The Free Press, and The Daily Caller.
