Kuwait Society For Relief Distributes Aid To IDP In E. Sudan


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) PORT SUDAN, Feb 8 (KUNA) -- Kuwait Society for Relief (KSR) handed out 100 tons of food relief to the internally displaced people (IDP) in Kassala State, eastern Sudan, on Saturday, in collaboration with the Sudanese charity El-Ehsan.
The aid, including 2,000 food parcels, were distributed in a ceremony attended by Kassala Deputy-Governor Omar Othman Adam, the State's Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid Edris Ali and El-Ehsan Director Edris Hamed.
Adam expressed gratitude for the continuous support by the government and people of Kuwait, and the humanitarian role of the Kuwaiti aid organizations.
He praised the fraternity and deep-rooted relations between Sudan and the State of Kuwait.
On a similar note, Kassala Commissioner and El-Ehsan Director extolled the KSR food parcels' initiative as a timely response to the needs of the Sudanese IDP who suffer from the ordeal of the civil war. (end)
