Amman, Feb. 6 (Petra) - Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and Holy Sites, Dr. Mohammad Khalayleh, Thursday said all applicants to perform Hajj rituals born on 31/3/1953 or later will be able to perform pilgrimage this year.
During a press conference to announce 2025 Hajj arrangements, the minister noted 1,200 people will be picked by lottery out of applicants via the Hajj portal, born in 1975 or earlier, alongside 20% others, who saved in the Hajj Fund, born on 1/1/2019 or earlier.
Khalayleh added that the Kingdom's share designated for performing Hajj this year stands at 8,000 pilgrims, alongside 4,500 others from the 1948 Arabs in Palestinian territories.
The minister called on people, who obtained Hajj visas, to visit the Kingdom's Endowments Directorates to receive Hajj permits, starting next Saturday, until February 15, to complete procedures.
On its role, he stressed the ministry's "keenness" to provide the "best" services to Jordanian pilgrims and 1948 Arabs at the "lowest" prices, with the "highest" transportation service by operating modern vehicles for this purpose.
Warning against providing Hajj and Umrah services without a license, he affirmed referral of 4 cases for violations to promot Hajj service outside the framework of the ministry's official mission.
A total of about 29, 000 people registered through the Hajj portal, who met the registration conditions.
