House Speaker: We Reject Attempts To Uproot Palestinians, Stand United With King

Amman, Feb. 6 (Petra)-- On the anniversary of Allegiance and Loyalty Day, Lower House Speaker Ahmad Safadi said: "We in the Lower House affirm our standing as one behind his majesty the King, our army, and our security bodies, rejecting any attempts to displace our Palestinian brothers." He went on to say that tomorrow, Friday, the anniversary Allegiance and Loyalty Day, encourages people to work harder and accomplish more for Jordan's progress and for our people, who have shown the unity and strength of the united front under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II.
His Majesty King Abdullah II strengthened Jordan's strength and stability by following the path and strategy of the late King Hussein bin Talal, according to Safadi. Jordan has become a regional model for the structure of a strong state based on the principles of harmony, tolerance, the rule of law, and the stability of its democratic process.
"Since assuming his constitutional powers, His Majesty the King has taken it upon himself to achieve comprehensive development in all tracks," Safadi added. "We have reaped the first fruits in the political track by electing the twentieth House of Representatives according to party rules that enhance the presence of women and youth, and today we are moving towards achieving the results of the economic and administrative modernization tracks."
Safadi emphasized that Jordan has maintained its position on national problems, particularly the Palestinian cause, under the direction of His Majesty the King. His Majesty has steadfastly and resolutely upheld the Hashemite Custodianship of the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem and has done everything in his power to assist our people in the Gaza Strip despite the heinous assault. With the support of his entire population, he remains resolute in opposing proposals for displacement.
