Arab League Rejects Trump's Remarks On Displacement Of Palestinians

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) CAIRO, Feb 5 (KUNA) -- The Arab League on Wednesday assured that US President Donald Trump's statements promoting a scenario of displacing the Palestinians, "are unacceptable at the Arab and international levels."
"This suggestion contradicts the international law," the League said in a statement, describing it as "a recipe for instability that does not contribute to the two-state solution."
Expressing confidence in the US's desire to achieve peace in the region, the League said the proposal involves displacing Palestinians from their lands and that is not acceptable.
"The factors of the Palestinian issue remain the subject of Arab consensus" and is of upmost importance that the Palestinian people obtain their rights of establishing an independent state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The League also affirmed that the West Bank and Gaza Strip together constitute the territories of the future Palestinian state within the frameworks of the two-state solution, and without separation or infringement on the rights, as their survival represents the title of their just cause.
