Saudi Arabia Stands Firm On Palestinian Statehood, Rejects Trump's Remarks

(MENAFN- Khaama Press) Saudi Arabia has reiterated that its position on the establishment of a Palestinian state is firm and non-negotiable. This statement comes after U.S. President Donald trump claimed that Saudi Arabia was not in favor of the creation of such a state.

In response to Trump's remarks, the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a statement emphasizing that diplomatic relations with Israel would not be established until the formation of an independent Palestinian state and the recognition of East Jerusalem as its capital.

Furthermore, the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed strong opposition to any violations of Palestinian rights, including the expansion of Israeli settlements, annexation of lands, and attempts to displace the Palestinian people.

Trump had previously stated that the United States would take control and“ownership” of the Gaza Strip. He said that the U.S. would be responsible for neutralizing unexploded bombs and other dangerous weapons in the region and would develop the area, creating thousands of jobs and transforming it into a place the Middle East could be proud of.

In its statement, Saudi Arabia reiterated Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman's call for the establishment of a Palestinian state within the borders of 1967, the end of Israeli occupation, and the full membership of Palestine in the United Nations. Riyadh also emphasized that there was no room for negotiations or political dialogue on this matter.

Saudi Arabia stressed that a fair and lasting peace cannot be achieved without ensuring the full legitimate rights of the Palestinian people based on international resolutions. The Kingdom has made it clear that this position has been communicated to both the previous and current U.S. administrations.

Saudi Arabia's stance remains unwavering in its support for Palestinian sovereignty. The Kingdom's commitment to a two-state solution continues to be a fundamental element of its foreign policy, with no room for compromise on the issue.

The international community, including Saudi Arabia, maintains that the resolution of the Palestinian issue is crucial for regional peace and stability. It remains essential for the global community to come together to ensure that the rights of the Palestinian people are fully recognized.
