Ukrainian, Spanish Culture Ministers Discuss Joint Projects

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Minister of Culture and Strategic Communications Mykola Tochytskyi of Ukraine and his Spanish counterpart, Culture Minister Ernest Urtasun Domenech, discussed the issue of organizing Ukrainian exhibitions in Spanish museums and implementing training programs for Ukrainian art restoration experts.

This was reported by the Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications, Ukrinform saw.

Tochytskyi expressed gratitude to the Spanish side for the significant financial assistance Spain has provided to Ukraine's cultural sector of Ukraine since Russia's large-scale invasion.

The parries focused on specific projects in the field of culture.

In particular, the two ministers discussed the organization of exhibitions of collections from Ukrainian museums in the Prado National Museum and the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum in Madrid, as well as at other sites across Spain. In addition, significant potential for sharing experience in the field of restoration, as well as the organization of training programs for Ukrainian restorers, was noted.

Tochytskyi also emphasized the interest of the Ukrainian side in continued introduction of audio guides in Ukrainian in Spanish museums.

Cooperation in the field of book publishing and translations was discussed separately. The parties noted the importance of increasing the number of translations of literary works by Spanish authors into Ukrainian, as well as Ukrainian authors into Spanish.

The Minister of Culture of Ukraine thanked his Spanish counterpart for participating in the first international conference on culture in Ukraine,“Cooperation for Sustainability”, and joining the Declaration on Strengthening Sustainability of Ukraine's Cultural Sector.

The Minister of Culture of Spain congratulated the Ukrainian side on the successful holding of this large-scale international event, emphasizing the importance of further developing cultural cooperation.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, referring to Minister Tochytskyi, the Declaration on Strengthening the Resilience of the Cultural Sector should form the basis for further actions to protect Ukraine's cultural heritage.
