Kuwait's KRCS Opens Kitchen For 2023 Quake Victims In Southeast Turkiye

ANKARA, Dec 12 (KUNA) -- Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS), in cooperation with the Turkish Red Crescent, opened on Thursday a kitchen for those affected by the Turkiye-Syria 2023 quake that hit province of Adiyaman, southeast Turkiye.
Speaking to KUNA after the opening of the 1,067 square meters kitchen, KRCS Deputy Chairman Dr. Nasser Al-Tannak said that the two-story facility has the capacity to serve 15,000 people daily.
He revealed that the project cost around USD 800,000, noting that the funding fully came from the KRCS.
On his part, Adiyaman city governor Dr. Osman Varol expressed gratitude to Kuwait for its support of the people of Adiyaman, affirming that the facility was essential to serve those affected by the 2023 quake.
The 2023 Turkiye-Syria had the magnitude of around 7.8 with deaths in both countries reaching tens of thousands, while hundreds of thousands were injured and many went missing. (end)
