Sony PSVR2 controllers expand features of Apple Vision Pro

(MENAFN) The Vision Pro may soon gain compatibility with Sony PSVR2 controllers, as reported by Mark Gurman on newsletter for Bloomberg. Allegedly, Apple and Sony had initially planned to unveil this support "weeks ago" but decided to delay its release.

As part of this rumored collaboration, Apple would begin retailing Sony's controllers, which are currently not sold separately.

Sony has reportedly been developing this compatibility for several months, while Apple has been inquiring whether third-party developers would leverage Sony’s VR controllers. This could be exciting news for Vision Pro users looking for enhanced gaming capabilities. At present, the selection of native visionOS games is limited. One standout example is Thrasher, a captivating game where players use hand gestures to propel a giant worm or dragon through a psychedelic environment.

According to Gurman, Apple envisions these controllers being used for more than just gaming. They would offer improved precision for navigating visionOS and working in applications such as Final Cut Pro and Adobe Photoshop. Currently, users can connect standard Bluetooth controllers to interact with visionOS, performing actions like selecting items, scrolling, and more using buttons and analog sticks.
