Swedish climate activist participates in pro-Palestinian rally organized by Zaytuna community in Rhine-Necker district of Mannheim

(MENAFN) Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg participated in a pro-Palestinian rally organized by the Zaytuna community in the Rhine-Necker district of Mannheim, located in southwestern Germany. The event, which took place at the city's main market square, featured a panel discussion on solidarity with Palestinians and the climate movement.

According to a city spokesperson, around 700 people attended the peaceful gathering on Friday evening, with initial estimates reporting 200 and then 500 participants.

Thunberg, who is internationally recognized for her climate activism, has shown consistent support for Palestinians, particularly after the Hamas attack and the subsequent Israeli military actions in Gaza more than a year ago. She has accused Israel of committing genocide, a statement that has drawn criticism from some who claim she is biased.

At 21 years old, Thunberg has been arrested multiple times during demonstrations around the world, including at climate protests.
